of Teebeth.

Andrew Ketterley
Digory's "mad" uncle and "magician".
He made the magic rings, and sent Polly to
The Wood Between the Worlds.

Anradin
A Tarkaan, that offers to buy
Shasta from Arsheesh.
Master of Bree.

Aravis Tarkheena
One of the four main characters in
HHB. Aravis has been promised marriage
to Ahoshta Tarkaan, and therefore she
escapes from Calormen, together with
the talking horse, Hwin.
Later, she also joins Shasta and Bree.

Ardeeb Tisroc
Paternal great-great-great-grandfather
of Aravis.

Argoz
One of The Seven Noble Lords.
Have visited The Land Of The Duffers,
and is one of The Three Sleepers on Ramandu's
Island.

Arsheesh
A poor fisherman who lives
in Calormen with his "son" Shasta.

Aslan

The Great Lion, and the son of
The Emperor-Beyond-The-Sea.
He's the creator of Narnia, and
appears in all the books.

Axartha Tarkaan
Grand Vizier of Calormen
before Ahoshta Tarkaan.

Azaroth
A calormene godess.

B

Bacchus
The god of wine in Roman Myths.
Bacchus has a faun-skin, and
a wild face. He are mentioned in LWW, and
appears in PC.

Beaver, Mr.
One of the two beavers who
helped The Pevensies in LWW.
Mr.Beaver is very proud of his dam-building-skills,
and is one of the first persons that the Pevensies meets
in Narnia.

Beaver, Mrs.
The other beaver in LWW, and wife
to Mr. Beaver.
She insists on packing much food
with her for the journey to The Stone Table,
and she is very "keen" on sewing machines.
Mrs. Beaver are also mentioned at
The Great Reunion(in LB) along with Mr.Beaver.

Bern
One of The Seven Noble Lords.
First seen on The Island of Felimash, where
he buys Caspian from Pug.
Later, he becomes Duke of The Lone Islands.

Betty
One of Professor Diggory's
three servants.

Bree
The talking horse that escapes from
Calormen together with Shasta, Aravis and Hwin.(HHB)

Bricklethumb
A dwarf that appears in HHB.
Brother to Duffle and Rogin.

C

Camillo
A talking hare who helps Prince
Caspian in the war against Miraz.

Caspian I
The first Telmarine King of Narnia,
also known as Caspian The Conqueror.

Caspian VIII
A telmarine king, father to Caspian IX
and Miraz.

Caspian IX
A telmarine King of Narnia, father
to Caspian X, and brother to Miraz.

Caspian X
A Telmarine King, also called
"The Seafarer".
Caspian was born 2290 N.Y.*,
and died 2356 N.Y.*
In PC, he fights against
his vicky uncle, Miraz, and
in VDT, he sails to the end of the world.
In SC, the story tells taht he's wife, Ramandu's
Daughter, has been killed by a serpent,
and his only son, Rilian, has disappeared.
Jill, Eustace and Puddleglum rescues the prince at
the end of the book.

Chief Voice
The Leader of The Duffers, and their
spokesman.
He appears in VDT, when he
seems to do all the thinking for the
other duffers.

Clipsie
Daughter of The Chief Voice,
that recites the spell of invisibility
in The Magician's book.(Coriakin)

Clodsley Shovel
A mole in PC, that proposes
throwing up entrenchments around
The Dancing Lawn.

Cloudbirth
A centaur among the narnians,
and their famous healer.
He has a great knowledge of
herbs and plants, and he has been
sent to help Puddleglum with
his burnt foot.

Col
Son to King
Frank V of Narnia.
Leads a group of Narnians to
settle the uninhabited Archenland.

Cor
See Shasta.

Coriakin
The Magician that live on
The Island of Voices.(Land of The Duffers)
Coriakin was once a star, and his governing
of The Duffers is a punishment for having failed.

Corin Thunderfist
Shasta's twin brother, and Prince
of Archenland.
He is twenty minutes younger than Cor,(Shasta)
and hence second in line of the throne.
He gets the nickname because of his good
abilities inboxing.

Cornelius, Doctor
Caspian's tutor, a half-dwarf who helps
Caspian in PC.
When Caspian is King, Cornelius
becomes his Lord Chancellor.

D

Dar
Brother to Darrin, and loyal
to King Lune.
Fights against The Calormenes in HHB.

Darrin
Brother to Dar, an a Lord of
Archenland.
Darrin is present at the King's luncheon
at Anvard after the battle.

Daughter of Ramandu
A tall, young woman who greets
the travelers when they arrive at Ramandu's
Island. Later, she marries Caspian, and becomes
Queen of Narnia.
She meets a horrible death, however,
when she gets bitten by a serpent.(The Green Lady)
Finally, she is among the people at The Great Reunion.

Destrier
Caspian's dumb horse in PC.
He helps Caspian to escape from Miraz,
but unvittingly betrays him.

Diggle
One of the disbelieving dwarfs in LB,
that can't see anything in the stable.,
and presumes that The Seven Friends of Narnia
can't see either.

Digory Kirke
The Professor that welcomes The
Pevensies into his large house in LWW,
and the boy in MN who travels to other worlds
together with Polly.
In lB, he is one of the Seven Friends of Narnia.

Drinian
The Captain of The Dawn Treader, and
a Narnian Lord. In SC, Drinian is still in
King Caspian's court.

Duffle
A red dwarf in HHB, brother
to Bricklethumb and Rogin.

E

Edmund Pevensie
Edmund is the third child of Mr. and
Mrs. Pevensie, and one of the
Seven Friends of Narnia.
In LWW, however, he is a traitor, but later
he becomes King Edmund The Just.
He is a member of The Dawn Treader in VDT,
together with Lucy and Eustace.

Emeth
The noble Calormene in LB who yearns
tos erve Tash, but meets Aslan instead.
"Emeth" is a hebrew word for "faithful, true".

Emperor-Beyond-The-Sea
Aslan's father, and The Author of
The Two Deep Magics.
The White Witch is the Emperor's hangsman,
according to Mr.Beaver, and he is correct
in this assessment:death.

Erlian
Father of King Tirian, and
The Second Last King of Narnia.
In Aslan's country, Erlian is a hearty
young man, the father Tirian remembers
from his youth.

Eustace Clarence Scrubb
The only child of Harold and Alberta Scrubb, and
the cousin to The Pevensies.
Eustace appears in VDT, when he joins
Caspian's journey, and in SC, when he
together with Jill and Puddleglum, looks for
The Lost Prince.

F

Farsight
The eagle who brings Tirian the news
of Cair Paravel's capture, and Roonwit's death in LB.

Father Christmas
The man who appears in the end of
The Hundred Years of Winter, and brings gifts
for The Pevensies and The Beavers.
He is of course a huge, bearded man in a bright
red robe, and his appearance signals that that the winter
son will end.

Father Time
An enourmous man,that first is
encointered asleep in a cave in Underland.
The old man, called Father Time, was once a King
in The Upper World, and he wakes up in LB at the
end of the world.

Fledge
The winged horse who carries
Digory and Polly to the garden in MN.
Orginally, Fledge was a cab-horse named Strawberry.

Frank I
The first King of Narnia, and the husband to Helen.
Originally he was a cab-driver from London, but he was
chosed as The First King of Narnia by Aslan, when he came to
The Country.

G

Gale
Ninth King of Narnia, a direct
descendant of King Frank and Queen Helen.
Gale kills a dragon that long has terrorized the
inhabitants of The Lone Islands, and in gratitude,
they give the Islands to Narnia, and makes him
emperors.

Ginger
An orange-colored tom-cat that
appears in LB.
Ginger is a cunning fellow that are under
the service of Rishda Tarkaan.
Later, Ginger becomes a dumb beast because
of his heresy.

Glenstorm
A centaur that helps Caspian in PC.
He is one of the delivers to Miraz,(the challege letter)
and one of the judges in the battle.

Glimfeather
A huge white owl in SC.
He isabout as tall as a good-sized dwarf,
and his name is derived from the Middle High
German word "glim", witch means "to shine or gleam".
Glimfeather also appears in LB, at The Great Reunion.

Glozelle
A Telmarine Lord, counselor to Miraz,
that kills his king because of a personal insult.

Golg
An earthman captured by Puddleglum after
the death of The Green Lady.(Queen of Underland)
Golg tells them that he and the other earthmens wanted
to fight for going back to their real land, Bism.

Griffle
One of the disbelieving dwarfs in LB, and
their leader.
When Tiian rebukes him for his discourtesy
to Jill, the dwarf replies that he has as a little
use for more kings, as he has for more Aslan's.

Gumpas
Governor of The Lone Islands in VDT,
and the responsable of The Slave Trade.
Although Lord Bern has petitioned
him a hundred times to put a stop of the trade,
Gumpas only explains that the trade is a necessity
to the islands developing economy.
Therefore, Caspian removes him from the office,
an replaces him with Bern, that becomes Duke of The Lone Islands.

Gwendolen
A Berunian schoolgirl who tells her
class that it is a lion outside.
Aslan invites her to join the party.

H

Harold Scrubb
The father of Eustace, and uncle to the Pevensies.

Harpha
A Calormene Tarkaan,
father of Emeth.

Helen
First Queen of Narnia, and wife of King Frank I.
Before coming to Narnia, she was a housewife called Nellie.

Hermit of The Southern Marshes
A 109-year old man who lives on the southern
border of Archenland, north for the Great Desert.
Shasta, Bree, Hwin and aravis meets him in HHB.

Hwin
A talking horse that are ridden by Aravis Tarkheena.
Like Bree she is a Narnia horse that was captured in her
early youth, and enslaved in Calormen.
Hwin and Aravis escapes from Calormen
together with Shasta and Bree.

Ilsombreh Tisroc
Paternal great-great-grand father of Aravis.

Ivy
One of Professor Digory's three servants.

J

Jackdaw
A small bird of the crow family that can be ought to talk.
He truly enjoys the joke of his own exspense, and asks
if everyone will hear how he made the first joke.

Jadis
See White Witch

Jewel
A creamy-white unicorn, King Tirian's best friend.
Throughout LB, he steadfastly refers to the false Aslan,
reminding Tirian that he's not a tame lion.

Jill Pole
One of the seven friends of Narnia.
Appears for the first time in SC, when she helps Eustace
and Puddleglum to fin The Lost Prince, and for the second time
in LB, where she and Eustace helps Tirian against the Calormenes.

K

Kidrash Tarkaan
The name of both the paternal great-grandfather and
the father of Aravis.

L

Lasaraleen Tarkheena
Friend of Aravis that have clothes, parties
and gossip as the top priorities.
She appears in HHB, and helps Aravis to escape.

Lefay, Mrs.
Andrew Ketterleys godmother, and according to
him "one of the last mortals in the country who had fairy blod."
Although she is known to Mabel Kirke, she refuses to discuss her, so it
must be something mystic about her.
She's also been in prison.

Letitia Ketterly
Digory's aunt, an old maid who lives in London.

Lilygloves
A funny old chief mole, whom Peter
remembers from the old days.

Lucy Pevensie
The youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie, and
the first in their family to enter Narnia.
When she became Queen, she was known as Queen Lucy The Valiant,
and she's one of Aslan's "closest-friends".

Lune
King of archenland, father of Cor(Shasta) and Corin.
From Lewis's description, he looks very much like
Santa Claus, but his deep voice and the "hungry" expression
which he first greets Shasta give him a more serious aspect.

M

Mabel Kirke
Younger sister of Andrew Ketterley, and mother to Digory.
For the most of MN she is serously ill, and her character
seems to be very strict about keeping promises.

Macready, Mrs.
Housekeeper to Professor Digory Kirke in LWW.
Is NOT fond of children.

Margaret
One of Professor Digory's three servants.

Marjorie Preston
An intimate, older chum of Lucy Pevensie.
Lucy "overhears" Marjorie betray her during the
eavesdropping enchantment.
In order to get Anne Featherstone's respect,
she says that she doesn't care so much for Lucy as
much as she appears to do.

Mavramorn
One of The Seven Noble Lords, and one of the visitors
to The Land of The Duffers. He is also one
of the Three Sleepers at Ramandu's Island.

Miraz
Prince Caspian's evil uncle, that stole the throne
from him. In Pc, Caspian fights against him, but
it is his own counselor, Glozelle, who kills him.

Moonwood
A Narnian talking hare with hearing
so acute that he was able to hear whispering in Cair Paravel.

Mullugutherum
The only named gnome in-waiting for The Queen
of Underland. He is all for imprisoning Jill, Eustace and Puddleglum, but
the Prince(Rilian) intervenes and has the three brought to him.

N

Nain
King of Archeland in the reign of Miraz.
He is named as a possible way for escaping
by Dr. Cornelius.(Caspian's escape from Miraz)

Nikabrik
A Black Dwarf in PC that first wants to kill Caspian.
Later, he also wants to kill Dr. Cornelius, and he also
tries to summon The White Witch back, together with a hag and
a werewolf.

O

Octesian
One of The Seven Noble Lords.
Died on Dragon Island.

Olvin
The fair-haired king of Archenland who in
407 N.Y. defeats Pire, the two-headed Southern
giant and turns him into stone.

P

Pattertwig
A magnificent red squirell, nearly the
size of a terrier and very hospitable.
He is a chatterer and when he attends The Great Council,
he runs around calling for silence.

Peepiceek
One of the mice in Reepicheep's company.

Peridan
A Narnian courtier in the embassy of King Edmund
and Queen Susan to Tashbaan in HHB.

Peter Pevensie
The oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie.
Sir Peter Wolfsbane and High King Peter The Magnificent.
Victor over The Northern Giants, and Miraz's opponent
in PC.

Pevensie, Mr. and Mrs.
The Parents of Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie.

Pittencream
The only sailor on The Dawn Treade whom Caspian
does not allow to go to Worlds End.

Poggin
A helpful dwarf who joins Tirian in LB, in contrast
to Griffle, Diggle and all the other dwarfs.

Polly Plummer
The first human child to enter The Wood
Between The Worlds. Helped Digory to
execute his quest in MN.

Pomely
Lord Glozelle's horse.
"Pomely" is and adaption of the old French word for "dappled".

Prizzle, Miss
The schoolmistress of Beruna girls' school in PC.
She accuses Gwendolen for talking nonsense when she
claims to see a lion outside.(Aslan)

Prunaprismia
Caspian's red-haired aunt, and wife to Miraz.

Puddleglum
A Marshwiggle who helps Jill and Eustace to
find Prince Rilian in SC.

Pug
A obsequious, oily pirate on the
island of Felimath, who is engaged in the slave trade.

Puzzle
A gray donkey in LB, who thinks he is very
bad, and lets his "friend" Shift, do all the thinking for him.

Q

Queen of Underland
The ruler of the Underland, also known as The Green Lady,
The Lady in The Green Kirtle or The Queen of The Deep Realm.
She is a witch of the same kind as Jadis,(White Witch) and wants to
rule Narnia through Prince Rilian.

R

Rabadash
The crown-prince of Calormen during
The Golden Age of Narnia.
He wants to conquer Narnia and Archenland but fails.

Ram
Surnamed "The Great", and the son of king Cor(Shasta)
and Queen Aravis.

Ramandu
A star at rest that tells Caspian of what
to do about The Three Sleepers.

Reepicheep
A valiant talking mouse who stands between
one and two feet tall, and has ears nearly as long as a rabbit's.
He is the chief mouse, and do always have courage and plans
about battles and strategies.

Restimar
One of The Seven Noble Lords.
Is judged to be "the beautiful golden statue".(Deathwater Island.)

Revilian
One of The Seven Noble Lords, and one of the visitors
to The Land of The Duffers. Is also one of the Three Sleepers.

Rhince
The first mate on the Dawn Treader, and old
salt who hopes to be home before his upply of tobacco runs out.

Rhoop
One of The Seven Noble Lords, and one of the visitors
to The Land of The Duffers. Prisoner on the Dark Island.

Rilian
A king of Narnia, son of King Caspian X and The Daughter
of Ramandu. Throughout most of SC, he is held captive
of The Green Lady,(Queen of Underland.)
but becomes free when Jill, Eustace and Puddleglum rescues him.

Rishda Tarkaan
The calormene captain who joins Shift in the
plot against Narnia.

Rishti Tarkaan
Paternal grandfather of Aravis.

River-god
The river-god arises from the waters of The Great River
at Aslan command to the the waters of Narnio to be divine.

Rogin
A helpful dwarf in HHB.
Brother to Duffle and Bricklethumb.

Roonwit
A great, golden-bearded centaur in LB, who
tells Tirian that the news about Aslan is a lie.

Rumblebuffin
A good giant in LWW, freed by the breath of Aslan from
the imprisonment as a statue.

Rynelf
A sailor on The Dawn Treader in VDT.
When Caspian argues his rights to continue to
The Utter East, Rynelf has the temerity to suggest
that it would be desertion.

Sarah
Uncle Andrew's housemaid in MN.

Seven Friends of Narnia
Digory Kirke, Polly Plummer, Peter Pevensie,
Lucy Pevensie, Edmund Pevensie, Eustace Clarence Scrubb
and Jill Pole.

Seven Noble Lords
Revilian, Argoz, Mavramorn, Octesian, Rhoop, Restimar and Bern.

Shasta
King Lune's lost son, elder twin of Corin Thunder-Fist.
Husband to Aravis Tarkheena and father of Ram The Great.

Shift
An ugly ape who lives by the Caldron Pool.
Joins the Calormenes, and plans to make a plot against Narnia.

Silenus
The Drunken attendant of Bacchus in Greek and Roman
mythology. Rides a donkey.

Slinkey
The only named fox in all the chronicles.
He is on Rishda Tarkaan's side in The Last Battle.

Sopespian
A scheming telmarine Lord, counselor to Miraz.
He is hacked to death by King Peter.

Stonefoot
A giant summoned to battle by Roonwit at the
bidding of King Tirian.

Strawberry
See Fledge

Susan Pevensie
The second child of Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie, known as
Queen Susan The Gentle and Queen Susan of The Horn.
In LB, Peter tells that she unfortunately not a friend of Narnia anymore.
Her only interest is to be grown-up.

Swanwhite
Queen of Narnia some time before the
Hundred Years of Winter.

T

Tash
The chief god of The Calormene pantheon.
He is a cruel, bloodthirsty god with a taste for human
sacrifice. Vaguely man-shaped, Tash has a vulture's head, four
arms and twenty fingers that end in cruel, curving falons.

Thornbut
Guardian dwarf to Prince Cori, appointed
by King Lune to keep Corin from entering battle.

Three Bulgy Bears
Trufflehunter's nearest neighbours, who live
to the east of him in the northernmost part of Archenland.

Three Sleepers
Argoz, Revilian and Mavramorn.
Three of The Seven Noble Lords.

Tirian
The last king of Narnia, seventh in descent from King Rilian.
Fights against Calormen in LB.

Trufflehunter
A talking badger with a large, friendly, intelligent face.
Helps Caspian against Miraz in PC.

Trumpkin
A Red Dwarf, and The Pevensie Children's D.L.F.(Dear Little Friend.)
Caspian's Regent in VDT, and Lord Chancellor in SC.

Tumnus
A flute-playing faun in LWW, and the first person in Narnia, that
meets Lucy Pevensie. In HHB, he is a loyal Narnian who hates every
stone in Tashbaan.

Two Brothers of Beaversdam
Telmarine Lords, rulers of Beaversdam under Caspian IX.
Later, Miraz falsely accuses them of madness, and gets them imprisoned.
